I like to respond about the description of the Juvenile Mountain Plover.
We saw the bird first on Dezember25th at 9.00AmThis bird was so close to
approach mybe less than 5 feet .We did not needed any Scope at all,infact
taken photos i had to use a straight 300mm Nikon Lense so i can fit the bird
into the frame.We was birding with Tod Thornton what was seeing the bird for
the second day ,he was from Oregon.
The Bill was quite short to midium the most,also it was quite thick all
around.The feet was grayish with a tint of pink,but not yellow at all.I
photographed this bird from every angle i could,all sites ,from the back,
from all the front and in all my photos it show the feet the same
colour.Also what realy show is the black tail tip.The Supercillium start on
the base of the bill .rounds around over the eye so it is not extended
beyond the eye.The body shape reminds me of the Eurasian Dotterel,infact
several birders mention this in the field expecial looking from the front
which shows a big rounded chest.
