My personal bird of the year would have to be the Brown Pelican. Seeing over 500 brown pelicans over Labor Day was a totally awesome sight! FRiday of Labor day week end, a friend and I went to Ocean shores. We stopped at Bowerman basin. Flying over the sewage lagoon were hundreds of brown pelicans. More kept flying in, similar to the hoards of birds in the movie "the birds" . We watched them for about an hour and a half!
