December 30, 4:10 PM - Hi, this is Karl Haynie (425) 837-9293 looking at a
WHITE IBIS in a field near the intersection of Highway 101 and Bay City Dike
Road south of Raymond. It's feeding in a large, grassy field on the south
side of Bay City Dike Road about a quarter mile west of Highway 101. It
looks to be mainly an adult bird, but it shows some signs of immaturity.
It's pretty dusky overall, but basically all white with black wingtips, a
long pinkish decurved bill and pink legs, but it's pretty drab colored for a
full adult. Also the MOUNTAIN PLOVER was seen yesterday afternoon in its
usual place.

December 30, 6:40 PM - Hi, this is Steven Mlodinow. Today Dennis Duffy and
I, along with Brian Raven, birded via boat in the Everett and Marysville
area. We had two SNOWY OWLS, one in the Kinberly-Clark property of Everett,
another one at the very southernmost end of Jetty Island. It was visible
only from the west side of Jetty Island. Other highlight, after the boat
trip, we went to the Everetty sewage ponds and there was a EURASIAN/AMERICAN
GREEN-WINGED TEAL hybrid. That's it. Good luck and good birding.

December 30, 7:19 PM - Hi. This is Karl Haynie again. Terry Risdon and I
have a correction to be made to the previous report on WHITE IBIS. The bird
was actually .5 to .7 mile west of Highway 101 on Bay Center Dike Road, not
Bay City Dike Road as previously reported. Also, we were there until about
dusk where we saw the bird suddenly withdraw. It was associating with a
large flock of crows. The whole flock left along with the IBIS at about the
same time, near dusk. So, it should be back out there again feeding with the
crows tomorrow, hopefully. That's it. Good luck and good birding.

December 30, 8:01 PM - Paul Hicks here (360) 264-2462 reporting for
Saturday, December 30, a trip out to Fort Canby to see the MOUNTAIN PLOVER
and it was there, seen by a number of folks 11:00-12:00 o'clock or so. An
added note of interest on the KITES reported by Steve Mlodinow on Chinook
Valley Road west and north of the town of Chinook. There were no less than
seven, upwards perhaps to ten, in the vicinity. The best access to a
panoramic view would be going west of Chinook, turn right on Lingenfelter
Road. Go about 3/4 mile before the intersection to Chinook Valley Road.
Continue on Chinook Valley Road for views of additional birds. That's it.
