My personal bird of the year would have to be a Spotted Owl, which I was nearly scalped by on my 24 birdathon. It was beautiful, and I really want to see it again. The only reason we even saw it was because it was trying to see if we were other owls, (because we were calling for them). I am sure this owl was quite perturbed that there were some people out there bothering he or she. There are lots of other birds, a lot of which are owls! Maybe Green Jays, which I saw last spring in Texas. I dunno there are soo many to choose from! It was a great year! Happy New Year to all!
