My bird(s) of the year would have to be the 20 some fledgling Great Blue
Herons I saw down at the locks one day in July. Gawky and ungainly they
huddled in groups, unlike their parents. I have pictures of ten of them
from the day before, I should post them... The next question is what will be
the first bird we see in the new millennium? I'll probably hear Crows and
Glaucous-winged Gulls well before I see anything else.
Happy New Year all.
