Subject: White Ibis in Ilwaco, WA
Date: Dec 31 16:55:39 2000
From: Mike Patterson - celata at pacifier.com

We just received a reliable report from a birder who was
in Ilwaco this afternoon and saw a (the) WHITE IBIS in the
large grassy area above the main parking area at Ilwaco
Boat basin. It was with COMMON SNIPE. It eventually flew
east toward the large conifers at the park at the east end
of Ilwaco.

This is (almost) certainly the same ibis that was seen at
Bay Center yesterday (about 25 miles as the ibis flies) and
I suspect the same bird that spent some time in Newport, OR.

It appears to be heading south.

Mike Patterson Alas, to wear the mantle of Galileo,
Astoria, OR it is not enough to be persecuted
celata at pacifier.com by an unkind establishment,
you must also be right.
