A PINE WARBLER is still visiting a feeder in Moscow, Latah Co, ID. The bird
has been present at the feeder of Bettie and Ray Hoff, 907 East 7th Street,
since Dec 7. The bird frequents a feeder on the south side of the house.
Look for it around the southeast corner of 7th Street and Hayes. The Hoff's
have also had a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW visiting their feeders. The Hoff's
are happy to have birders visit but if you are coming from a distance you
might want to check ahead. Email them at

A first year THAYER'S GULL has been seen on the beach at Independence Point
in Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai Co Idaho for the past 3 weeks, according to John
Weber. Shirley Sturts reports a possible MEW GULL there last weekend too.
Also, Stephen Lindsay reports a third-year THAYER'S GULL at Independence
Point on Jan 23. This park is downtown, just west of the CdA Resort. ID
DeLorme 60, B-1.

At least one EURASIAN WIGEON is still in Lewiston, Nez Perce Co ID. It has
been around for nearly a month, and seems to be regular at Kiwanis Park,
which is the first parking area south of the bridge over US 12 along Snake
River Avenue on the Idaho side. ID DeLorme 54, A-1. A TRUMPETER SWAN was at
Mann Lake, 3 miles east of the Lewiston Orchards at the end of Powers
Avenue, along with a late GREATER YELLOWLEGS, last weekend according to
Jane Westervelt and Deb Beutler.

Two tan-striped WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS were at Madame Dorianne Park in
western Walla Walla Co WA today according to Mike and MerryLynn Denny. The
park is just north of the jct of US 12 and US 730. Directly across from the
entrance to the park on the Walla Walla River delta were 85 DUNLIN, a
second-year GLAUCOUS GULL, and an adult MEW GULL. Just north of the park,
east on Iowa Dodd Beef Road, about 0.5 mile past the last lot, on the slop
ponds among the thousands of ducks, was a single EURASIAN WIGEON according
to Mike and MerryLynn. WA DeLorme 40 CD-1.

At Columbia Park in the Tri-Cities WA area the Denny's observed a
THAYERS/ICELAND -type gull today, Jan 28. For more info, call Mike at
509-529-0080.

There are 2 fun owls in the Moscow, Latah Co ID area. Terry Gray reports a
NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL is residing near the Alumni / Continuing Ed Bldg on the
University of Idaho campus. It has been regular in the late
afternoons. Also, Charles Swift found a NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL at the
University of Idaho Parker Farm on Jan 27. It was roosting in the
evergreens in the arboretum in the center of the farm. Take ID 8 east
toward Troy. Turn north at Lenville Road. Take the first right past the
greenhouses and proceed to the park-like arboretum.

If you have any questions, give me a call before 9 PM 208.883.0943.
