Subject: Rhetorical Excess and Ad Hominum Arguments

It is a time honored practice by those who have political axes to grind to
attack the person rather than the argument. This was implied by Mr. Baccus
in his previous post to me. He seems to imply that I have done nothing while
he is the model of environmental correctness.

Character assasination will get you nowhere. I wonder if Baccus realizes
that there are many people out there who do things without blowing their own
horns like he does.

He seems to think that racking up hundreds of miles on the old belchfire to
observe the last remnants of an endangered species is somehow doing
something. And then again there are those who go in for "eco tourism",
burning thousands of gallons of jet fuel just to tick off another species on
their life lists. If this is helping it would be better to stay home and
read a good book.
