Hi Tweeties!

Did anyone catch the "Bird Brains" special on KCTS Thursday night? In one
shot they showed some Arctic dwelling ravens and two different species of
gulls. The larger gull was very pale gray, the smaller gull looked pure
white. What kind of gulls were they?

Oh, the segment with the Pinyon and Scrub Jays caught and held the attention
of my 12 1/2 year old pile of hair, Schlumpf. Not even when he was a kitten
did television interest him. He was right up in front of the tube, and even
stood himself up on the television table to get closer looks. When the birds
flew off screen, he turned and looked into the other room. The parrots,
crows and ravens weren't as interesting as the Pinyon and Scrub Jays.

Oh, so as to not ruffle any feathers in here. Schlumpf is an INDOOR ONLY
PILE OF HAIR!

And why were the parrots so scruffy looking? I understand Alex is over
twenty, but so scruffy? Were the other two "student" parrots babies? I
wouldn't have used scruffy birds for on-camera work if at all possible.
