Hi Tweeters,

I appreciate the lists provided by Ed Newbold and Mike Patterson which indicate that
many Pacific Northwest species that undergone range reductions that should be of concern
to us. In my challenge to name species that have gone extinct, I didn't mean to suggest
that there isn't a problem. I was more interested in stimulating interest in use of
terms that are accurate. To me, "mass extinction" does not describe what is going on
her in the Pacific Northwest (at least not in my lifetime).

I observed two adult Bald Eagles today beside separate nests in Thurston County. No eagles
sitting down inside yet though. Any Great Blue Herons at colonies yet?
