Deborah and other interested tweets,
Mt. Chickadee is pretty easy to get up in the mountainous areas this time of
year or any other for that matter. We had several in the Okanogan, around
Chelan and I've even had them regularly at Indian John Rest area on I-90 near
Cle Elum. Boreal Chickadees are at high enough elevations in the N. Cascades
and Selkirks that I believe they are inaccessible to anybody by vehicle this
time of year. One could ski into some of these areas but it would be a lot of
work. The Tiffany Mt. area north of Winthrop is pretty reliable once the snow
clears. Wrentits to my knowledge have NEVER occurred in the state of
Washington. The Columbia River appears to be an impenetrable barrier. Hope
this helps.
