** ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATOR **

Allison Woods Foundation has an immediate opening for a capable,
articulate Environmental Educator at its outstanding 1,000-acre
nature center near Statesville, North Carolina USA.

The full-time, year-round position begins by 1 March 2000 at an
annual rate of $24,000, including benefits. This is a salaried
position that requires some evening and weekend work. The
Environmental Educator will assist with on-site research activities,
including a bird and plant inventory and bird banding.

The successful candidate will have:
-- A degree in science or education, with demonstrated experience in
teaching in an outdoor setting
-- Familiarity with Piedmont natural history
-- Good people skills (in person and on the phone), especially with
K-12 students and their teachers
-- Willingness to be a team player capable of taking both initiative
and direction
-- Excellent writing and speaking abilities
-- Computer competency including but not limited to word processing
programs, databases, and financial packages (such as
Quicken/QuickBooks)
-- Flexible schedule
-- Excellent references

The Environmental Educator reports to the Executive Director and/or
Science Education Consultant.
