Birded the Skagit Wildlife Area today, Sunday, 2/6, with Brenda Senturia. Could not find White-throated or Tree Sparrows. In fact sparrow flocks were few and small. We did find White-crowned, Golden-crowned, Song, Lincoln's and Fox Sparrows. Black-capped Chickadees, Brown Creepers, Ruby-crowned Kinglets and Bewick's Wrens were singing.

Then headed up to the Samish Flats. Two Tree Swallows flew above our heads on Field Road near the intersection with Church Road. As for falcons (we were really looking for sparrows!) we had an A. Kestrel on D'Arcy Road, a Prairie Falcon SE of the East 90 and a Merlin at the Field 90 as it unsuccessfully chased Dunlin and Black-bellied Plovers.
