Columbia Estuary Report 02/06/2000

We found more TREE SWALLOWS this weekend. The Lower Columbia
Birders took a trip to Brownsmead and saw 3 flying over
Blind Slough. Also in the area were 3 PEREGRINES. About
30 SNOW GEESE could be seen from the viewing platform at
the Twilight Eagle Sanctuary. We also saw 2 separate small
flocks of GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 12 on Jackson Rd and 6 at
Aldrich Pt.

BALD EAGLES are going through nest building activities at
several sites around Youngs Bay and on the Necanicum. A
SWAMP SPARROW continues to be found at the Neawanna Wetland
in Seaside.

A BARROW'S GOLDENEYE was reported by Lee Cain at the East
Mooring Basin in Astoria.
