In case nobody else has posted this. Ruth, you called this bird and
the discoverer just a week ago.

>Mike Denny, Merrylynn Denny, Ken Knittle, Milford Perrin, and I just spent
an hour (10-11 am) observing and photographing a Lesser Black-backed Gull on
the east side of the city of Walla Walla. The bird is in a flock of
approximately 100 California and Ring-billed Gulls on Hussey Street, 0.25
miles south of Highway 12. Detailed description and photos will come later
(probably tomorrow).
>
>The bird responds nicely to chumming with popcorn and moldy bread.
>
>This appears to be the same bird that the Dennys observed yesterday
(Sunday) at sunset at the Walla Walla River delta. Mike plans to look for
the bird at the delta again today between 3:30 and sunset. This will be a
BYOMB event ("Bring Your Own Moldy Bread").
