Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
recording was made Thursday February 10. If you have anything to add call

A BROAD-WINGED HAWK was reported February 8 near Brookings. The MOUNTAIN
PLOVER at the Dunes Overlook, south of Florence was seen again February
10. It was on the beach north of the trail.

The GYRFALCON north of Finley NWR has been hard to find the past few
days, but most probably is still in the area.

A male RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD was at Port Orford February 7. A male RUFOUS
and a male ALLEN'S were at New River, south of Bandon February 9.

The TREE SWALLOW movement has continued with small flocks reported this
week from the coast, the Rogue Valley, and the Willamette Valley. A BARN
SWALLOW was at Bandon Beach State Park February 4.

OLDSQUAWS were reported from the Siuslaw River mouth and Alsea Bay. The
February 7 offshore boat trip out of Newport found 7 LAYSAN ALBATROSS, 11
BLACK-FOOTED ALBATROSS, 60 FULMARS, 5 SHEARWATERS, and a FORK-TAILED
STORM-PETREL.

The EMPEROR GEESE have remained on Kilches Meadows, north of Tillamook.
The EURASIAN WIGEON there have increased to 8 during the week. A
MOCKINGBIRD was at the south end of Seaside February 6. A BARROW'S
GOLDENEYE was at the east mooring basin in Astoria February 6.

A GOSHAWK was in downtown Portland February 5. The BLACK PHOEBE behind
the North Clackamas Aquatic Center in Milwuakie continues to be seen. A
BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER was reported February 4 at the Mollala River State
Park near Canby. It could not be relocated.

The TREE SPARROW south of Canby continues to be seen. To reach the area
drive south out of Aurora on Meridian Road. The sparrow is on a dirt road
on the west side of Meridian just south of the Rock Creek bridge.

Along with a flock of TREE SWALLOWS an EARED GREBE was at the Fernhill
Wetlands in Forest Grove February 6. A PRAIRIE FALCON was east of Albany
February 8. The TREE SPARROW along Pugh Road, north of Halsey continues
to be seen. A ROSS'S GOOSE and a SNOW GOOSE are still at Finley NWR.

An ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD was in Bend February 3. West of the Cascades they
are now displaying on Territories.
