Hi folks,

Don't know if anyone has any specifics for Dr.Darby. If so, perhaps
information or citations could be forwarded to him.

It is certainly an impact on the Columbia River Caspian Terns to have
the US, Oregon and Washington 'conservation' agencies destroy the
largest nesting colony on the west coast, because the terns have been
documented eating hatchery salmon and steelhead smolts, and they
figure that they can keep doing hydropower and habitat damaging
business as usual, while taking it out on the birds. Keeps all of us
from having to suffer from the restrictions of the 4(d) rule ... or does it?

Also, I remember back in the 80s that Range Bayer was leading a
fight against the ODFW good-ol'-boys permitting the 'sport fishing'
groups' efforts to haze sea birds in Tillamook Bay, in the guise of
'protecting' the hatchery salmon smolt releases in that area...
