You need to buy (or make) a suet cage - a rectangular wire or plastic mesh
cage to put your suet blocks in. These are sold at all bird stores like
Wildbirds. You just take the suet out of the wrapper and drop it in the
cage. Then you hang the cage from a hook or birdfeeder stand, or a tree
(woodpeckers especially like suet against a tree trunk). Nothing else you
need to do! Suet blocks are a lot cleaner than regular birdfeeding
approaches and much less prone to disease. It's a good alternative for
those concerned about harming the birds and spreading disease.
