I usually don't send reports of my backyard birds to Tweeters, but I felt this one deserved it. Not only was it a backyard first for me, but was pretty dang exciting all by itself. Glancing out the back window towards our greenbelt this morning, there was, perched on a snag about 50 ft. away, a mature BALD EAGLE. The crows began bombing it almost immediately, and it didn't stay longer than 5 minutes. What a thrill!

To make it even better, this was the weekend I was doing a backyard count for the Dept. of Fish & Wildlife!
