On Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, ten of us drove down to the Willapa Bay, Tokeland,
Raymond and Ledbetter area. The trip leader was Darryl Thompson from
Pilchuck Audubon Society. Our specialty birds of the day were three SPOTTED
SANDPIPERS in winter plumage chasing each other about in the Willapa River
just west of the Hwy 101 bridge. They would fly around and land on the broken
pilings in the river.
