Bill and Tweets,

Each year I quit feeding birds in March partly because of "killer crow"
attacks. I have a pair of crows and extended family that nest in a tree
very near my home. Three years ago they learned that they could "rush" a
group of feeding birds (finches mostly, chickadees, even robins) and force 1
or 2 into flying into the windows next to the feeder where they would either
eat on the spot or carry the victim away to the nest. Crows are very smart
birds and are certainly not above killing something more than insects for a
living. I've also seen this group of crows peck garter snakes to death and
carry them off.
