Greetings -

Recently I completed compiling and entering Place Names for western
Washington into Don Baccus' web-based Pacific Northwest Bird Database
Project. Also, the database project has a new, simpler URL -
http://birdnotes.net - and please note the absence of a "www" in the
URL. (The old URL still works also.)

There?s a skazillion Place Names I added, some with complex
hierarchical nesting. It?s based largely on Terry Wahl and Dennis
Paulson?s "A Guide to Bird Finding in Washington" plus a few other
sources. If you want an outline to the nesting hierarchy, plus the
source material, send an e-mail request directly to me (not to
Tweeters). At 14 pages, the hierarchy is a bit much to post or send
unsolicited.

At the very least I've found the database to be a painless way to
maintain personal lists for the places I bird often. Give it a look.
