Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
recording was made Thursday February 17. If you have anything to add call
Harry Nehls at 233-3976.

On February 12 a YELLOW-BILLED LOON was found on Wallowa Lake. It was
verified the next day. BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS and REDPOLLS are still being
seen in Wallowa County.

The LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL is still being seen along Hussey Road in
Walla Walla. It has come within a mile of the Oregon border. The Dunes
Overlook MOUNTAIN PLOVER continues to be seen.

A TURKEY VULTURE was at Euchre Creek, south of Gold Beach February 15.
Another was south of Bandon February 11. A MOCKINGBIRD was on the North
Spit of Coos Bay February 16. RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS are now increasing
along the southern Oregon coast. One was at Yachats February 10. The two
EMPEROR GEESE are still on Kilches Meadows, north of Tillamook. A SNOW
BUNTING and seven HORNED LARKS were at the South Jetty of the Columbia
River February 11.

A flock of 18 VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS was at Ridgefield NWR February 11.
The WHITE PELICAN continues to be seen on the Refuge.

The HARRIS'S, CLAY-COLORED, and SWAMP SPARROWS are still along Rentenaar
Road on the east side of Sauvie Island. The first migrant flocks of
SANDHILL CRANES arrived on the Island during the week. The flock of SNOW
GEESE is still being seen.

The BLACK PHOEBE is still being seen in Milwuakie, and the PALM WARBLER
is still along 33d. Avenue in North Portland.

A SAY'S PHOEBE was at Baskett Slough NWR February 12. A HARLAN'S HAWK was
at Ankeny NWR the next day. A PRAIRIE FALCON was east of Albany February
9, and a flock of COWBIRDS was in Albany that day. A flock of about 40
TRUMPETER SWANS are now in the fields along the Corvallis/Independence
Highway at the Benton County Line. A single TRUMPETER was along I5 north
of Cottage Grove February 13.

A HARRIS'S SPARROW was found February 11 at an overgrown hedge along
Bruce Road in Finley NWR. It continues to be seen. A flock of 30 TREE
SWALLOWS was on the Refuge February 14.

A TREE SWALLOW was in Bend February 10. A LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was at
Malheur NWR February 11. A TUFTED DUCK and a GYRFALCON have recently been
reported from the Lower Klamath NWR, just over the border in California.
