My wife and I birded up the Gorge through Skamania County and up to
Bickleton in Klickitat County on Feb. 16th. At Skamania Landing M.P.
32.9, on Highway 14, there was one SNOW GOOSE in with a flock of Canada
geese in the fields just east of Skamania Landing.
At M.P. 59.5, just West of Tunnel #4, there was one male TUFTED DUCK in
with a large flock of Greater Scaup on the Columbia River.
On Dot Road, six miles South of Bickleton, one male MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD
was sitting on a fencelne near one of the hundreds of bluebird boxes in
the area, despite the fact that the ground there is still covered in
snow.
