Decided to go looking for early returning species around the VAnatge area on
this presidents day. At the Quilomene WRA off of the Vantage area there were
4-5 singing SAGE SPARROWS and a dozen or more singing HORNED LARKS. In
Vantage accross from the Fire Station we had a brief look at a TREE SPARROW
before it disappeared and could not be relocated. South of Wanapum St. Park
(about .5 mile south) we had a singing ROCK WREN on the river side of the
road and a CANYON WREN on the west side of the road. Back on the Vantage
highway near Kittitas we had a brief flyover by a PRAIRE FALCON.
