Columbia Estuary Report - 02/21/2000

A GLAUCOUS GULL was at the Seaside Cove today. There were
925 SANDERLINGS counted on Clatsop Beach between Sunset Access
and Gearhart Approach. No other shorebird species were seen.

Andrew Emlen reports a RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD just west of Skamokawa,
Wahkiakum Co., WA. Hummingbirds were also reported from Warrenton.

In migration news, large numbers of AMERICAN ROBINS have been moving
through the area. A calling VARIED THRUSH was across the street from
my house this morning. WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS have begun (tentatively)
singing. WESTERRN GREBES are staging in Youngs Bay.

Mike Patterson Alas, to wear the mantle of Galileo,
Astoria, OR it is not enough to be persecuted
celata at pacifier.com by an unkind establishment,
you must also be right.
