Tweeter peregrine fans--

It was a brief encounter, even by peregrine standards. But on Monday
afternoon the downtown Tacoma Peregrine Falcons were seen mating for the
first time this season.

After they had held their session of congress on the east counterweight of
the 11th Street bridge, the Guy Peregrine fetched a cached partial carcass
out of hiding and flew to the west counterweight, vocalizing, and with
Mickee the female following. G.P. handed (so to speak) the post-connubial
meal over to Mickee, and they both flew back to the bridge's east end,
where he sat quietly on the counterweight and she dined above.

The Tacoma Peregrines' web site can keep you up to date on what they are
doing this season and on their new nestbox on the
bridge--<http://www.nwrain.com/~jrlyles/Tacoma_Peregrines.html>.
