Subject: Glaucous Gull in Tacoma

Hello tweeters.

I apologize if this has already been posted, but this afternoon I saw a
first-winter Glaucous Gull at the pond in Titlow Park, Tacoma. Beautiful
bird, with Mew, Glaucous-winged, Western, Ring-billed and Herring (one
second-winter) in decreasing order of abundance. Male Mandarin Duck was
still there, also a male Lesser Scaup and a male Common Merganser, two
species I don't usually see in the ponds. The merganser was competing for
bread with the Mallards and wigeons, much to my shock. What's the world
coming to? This would be a great spot to photograph some of these species.
