Hello Tweeters,
Today i discovert that one of my many Wild Currant bushes showing little
pink Buds. For the last 10 years this is a sign my Rufous male will come
soon,any day. I found even having the hummingbird feeder out, this birds
visiting the pink flowers first. This year i wonder how much tolerance
there have with the two Anna's Hummigbirds what are still here.I have two
feeders now ,but both are occupie by the Anna's. All winter there fed on
seperate feeders and avoiding each other.Even with such mild winter i
expected the Rufous comming much earlier,but when the Currant is not in
bloom there will not show up here.
When i reported my Townsend's Warbler three of them on January the 8th,one
of this birds stayed here comming every day( today six times to the suet
feeder). I never experienced this before, there usual staying around for a
little while and than finding other places. This bright male already comes
early as
7.30 AM today. i keep good record of my yardbirds for over 10 years and
never had a Townsend's staying verry long. A quality bird adding to all the
other birds what are feedig here in Fircrest.
