This Friday morning I visited LSSP to check on the heronry and other birds. I
was surprised there were no Great Blue Heron (GBHE) at the heronry. The nests
looked pretty well beat up from the winter storms and will take a lot of
work. I did see three GBHE in a tree about 300 yards east of the heronry. I
saw a total of 34 species with the highlights being:

5 gull species -- Mew, Ring-billed, Glaucous-winged, Herring and California
30 Dunlin
1 Common Snipe
1 immature Bald Eagle
3 Red-tailed Hawk
1 Horned Grebe
10 Western Grebe
5 female Common Merganser
