Greetings,

I was amazed at the number of birds I was able to see driving 60 mph on the short stretch of highway in B.C. between the ferry terminal at Tswassan down to the border crossing. In one field not 50 yds from the highway were at least 200+ TRUMPETER SWANS eating away. Along this same stretch of highway were four cases where a GREAT-BLUE HERON was walking along the highway not more than 15 feet from the pavement! I'm not sure what they were looking for.... Also saw over a dozen BALD EAGLES just between the freeway and the ferry terminal.

Great birding enroute to Victoria, B.C. Then upon returning home, we had 12 Thrushes around the feeders - highest count of this winter.

Cheers,
