I have a digital camera that takes very nice photos of microscope slides,
just by holding the camera to the eyepiece of the microscope. I hadn't even
thought of trying to do bird photography through my telescope with the
digital camera. As you say, it might be very useful for documenting
rarities. The digital camera allows seeing the image as you take the
picture, and reviewing it immediately after, and then transmitting it to the
rarities committee! I can hardly wait to try!
