Tweets,
I returned from my other coast home (NY,NY) very early Saturday morning. I
took a early walks near my home on Cougar Mountain in Bellevue both weekend
days to get some good fresh air into my lungs at about 7:30am. I had a Grey
Jay loudly calling and loosly following a group of Stellars Jays on both
days. Song Sparrows and Juncoes showing "spring" behaviors. I had a Rufous
Hummingbird male (separate posting)on Sunday. I also saw some really
intersting behavior in a large group of Bushtits that were feeding in the
Salal right at ground level all around me - I'm not used to seeing them
below eye level.
Seems Spring is springing here. In New York the Central Park ponds are all
covered with a thin layer of ice/snow and the snow on the ground melted just
this past Wednesday. I took some nice bird walks while there and had 27
species over 2 days including 2 Blue Jays that landed on my shoulder to take
peanuts. Now a week here and then off to Miami for 2 weeks for a NY client.
I hope to get in some good birding with friends there over the weekend.
