Here's very preliminary highlights of today's Jan 2, 2000
Two Rivers CBC in SW Walla Walla County, WA.
There was good participation with great out of town help from
Bill Tweit, Scott Mills, Andy Stepniewski & at least two others.
85 species was great but not quite a record.
Wind made the day uncomfortable, but didn't seem to
impact the count. At least the visibility was good!

Four new species for the count were:
1 WESTERN SANDPIPER
1 SAY'S PHOEBE
1 SORA (heard only, but it gave a full trill call, plus several partial
calls)
(by Craig, Judy, Bill & Scott)
1 RED-BR NUTHATCH

Other goodies were:
2 COMMON LOONS
2 WHITE PELICANS
4 SNOW GEESE (Blues)
3 EURASIAN WIGEON
3 VIRGINIA RAIL
about all the possible gulls including THAYERS, GLAUCOUS, MEW.
1 GOLDEN EAGLE (plus several Bald)
About 200 DUNLIN
6 GRAY PARTRIDGE
1 TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE
351 AMERICAN PIPITS (flock + 1 loner)
1 SAVANNAH SPARROW
1 LINCOLN'S SPARROW
2 HARRIS SPARROW
1 WHITE-THROATED SPARROW
3 COWBIRDS

Misses included Horned Grebe, Lesser Scaup, Snipe, Cooper's Hawk,
Merlin, Winter Wren, Golden-cr Kinglet, (also no Redpolls).
Sorry for any errors. This is from memory & I'm tired.
