I won't laugh--the bushtit is a very captivating and
entertaining bird (although their high-pitched cry
drives me nuts after about 5 minutes, when I'm out
working in the yard)(guess I should have listened to
more loud rock-n-roll than I did so my hearing
wouldn't be so darn sensitive). Anyway, I hope you
get to see one of their nests some time, because they
are just as captivating as the bird itself. We had
one in an oceanspray bush in our front yard when I was
a child, down low enough to study it and see the
little entrance hole in the cunningly-made
cobweb/twig/bits of whatever bag hanging in the
branches. We could watch the little bird going in and
out. Indeed they are great little birds.
