Tweets,
Wasn't going to let reports of driving snow stop us (Richard Struve and
I) from making the pilgrimage from Seattle to the Hawk-Owl shrine. After
a four hour trudge, we went to the spot as laid out so nicely on the
Birdbox by Richard Rowlett, only to find the bird not anywhere in sight.
Hate when that happens. We had to be happy with a Hawk (Dark phased
Red-tail) and an Owl (Northern Pygmy). The journey (?) back was worse as
the pass was closed due to avalanche control for 40 minutes. Hope others
are more lucky than we were. Happy New Year.
