If you wish to bypass this recording and simply leave a message for me,
including the date of your sighting and the DeLorme atlas page numbers and
coordinates if you have them, push the star button on your telephone
now. Otherwise, leave a message after the beep at the end of the
tape. Please give me good directions, your fellow birdwatchers will
appreciate it.

A PINE WARBLER, Idaho's first state record, is visiting a feeder in Moscow,
Latah Co, ID. The bird has been present at the feeder of Bettie and Ray
Hoff, 907 East 7th Street, since Tue, Dec 7. The bird frequents a feeder on
the south side of the house, particularly in the morning. Look for it
around the southeast corner of 7th Street and Hayes. The Hoff's have also
had a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW visiting their feeders for about a month. The
Hoff's are happy to have birders visit but if you are coming from a
distance you might want to check ahead. Email them at Hoff697 at turbonet.com.

A GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE was at Mann Lake, east of Lewiston, Nez Perce
Co ID on Dec 18 according to Brian Jamison. Mann Lake is about 3 miles east
of the Lewiston Orchards at the end of Powers Avenue. ID DeLorme 54, A-1.

For those of you around Moscow, the trees at the arboretum at the UI Plant
Science Farm about 1.5 miles east of Moscow have been a good spot for owls
lately. Charles Swift reports a LONG-EARED, a BARN, and a GREAT-HORNED
there this past week. Take ID 8 east from town and turn left onto Lenville
Road. Follow the gravel road past the greenhouses to the park-like arboretum.

I saw a juv plumaged NORTHERN GOSHAWK near the south end of Paradise Ridge,
Latah Co ID today Dec 24 before it disappeared into the fog.
