Tweeters,

I just got back to Louisiana after spending two weeks visiting family and
birding in the northwest portion of your great state. I was able to find
114 species, twelve of which were life birds, these include:

Gyrfalcon and Northern Shrike on the Samish flats, no Eurasian Kestrel

Eurasian Wigeon on Whidbey Island

Ancient Murelett and Emperor Goose from the Port Townsend Ferry (is there
someone who knows the status of Emperor Goose in Washington, ie. are they
considered escapees or wild birds?)

Golden-crowned Sparrow, Band-tailed Pigeon, and Townsend's Warbler in and
around Marymoore Park.

Rhinocerous Auklet and Anna's Hummingbird in Discovery Park during the
Seattle CBC.

I'd like to thank those who replied to the inquiry I made about some of
these birds back in November, and I'd like to thank the birders I met on
our different outings, I had a very memorable two weeks finding birds and
exploring the area. If anybody is planning a trip to Louisiana I'd be
more than happy to help locate birds or direct you to productive areas in
Southern Louisiana.
