Hi Tweeters
Six of us, Neil and Marilynne Robins, Barb and Bob Graves,Diana and
Wally Pearson went on the annual Nanaimo Eagle count, on Sunday the 9th
of Jan. 2000. Our area was along the waterfront from Shook Road at the
Nanaimo northern city limits to the Northwest Bay road at Nanoose Bay.
We started at 8:15 am and finished at 1:00 pm. We saw a total of
forty nine(49) Eagles, with thirty five(35) Mature Eagles, ten (10)
Immature and four (4) unknown. The day was sunny and for the most part
clear. Along with the eagles we also saw 12 Killdeer, lots of Scoters,
mostly surf, black, Pintails, Pacific and Common loons, Mew gulls, a
Redtailed Hawk, Six Trumpeter Swans,
Best Regards,
Neil
