Hi tweets,

I searched for the Ellensburg snowy and the Chelan hawk owl
the past two days and found neither. Though, with all the fog and
snow around Ellensburg the snowy could have been perched
on the hood of my car, for all I know! I called Doug (who originally
reported the owl) while on Bull Rd., and he said that the owl
had been seen once since he had reported it, a 1/4 mile or
so east of Bull Rd.

I searched for the hawk owl up and down Purtteman Gulch
Rd. from 4-5pm Monday night, and again Tuesday morning
from 6-9am, and then branched out to various areas surrounding
Purtteman. At about 7:10am, there was an owl traversing the
orchards, but it was too far and too dim for me to ID it. I
don't THINK it was the hawk, but I'll never know.

Birds of note on the whole trip included
sharp-shinned hawk (perched about ten feet away from me)
golden eagle
many bald eagles
lots o' red-tails
a few rough-legged hawks
many harriers
short-eared owl
great horned owl
quite a few belted kingfishers

until later....
