Great article in the P-I on the CBC, and glad to hear the Yakima paper
covered theirs. I'm sure there were other notable mentions in the press as
well. Here in Gig Harbor, the Gig Harbor Gateway covered the peninsula
portion of the Tacoma count before it occurred on Dec 15th. This was on the
front page and included a color photo of a birder scoping the area (OK, it
was me). Then they sent a reporter and a photographer to intercept a team
on count day at a known Anna's Hummingbird site, and published a followup
article with a hummer photo on Dec 22nd. They do a story like this on the
CBC about every ten years. Unfortunately, they do not have a comprehensive
website, so the stories can't be viewed online. I can email the stories to
anyone who's interested.

Sounds like the 100th count got lots of notoriety. I'd like to hear of
other articles.
