(P.S. I think I forgot to say--maybe it was in the first report--the farm
is in the vicinity of McMinnville, Oregon. The woman who sent the report
to the plants listserv has begun the process of joining Tweeters.)

As an update, she says that she sees the
owl mostly between 9:30 and 10:30 every morning. Yesterday she had a
stand-off with him. She said that he is so used to seeing her now, that he
isn't afraid of her anymore. She threw a stick at him to get him to "be
afraid". He is still eating her chickens, and she has called the County
Trapper, and he can't do anything. Today she was going to call the OSU
Extension Service, and try to figure out what else to do. The radio talk
shows aren't keeping him away anymore. I suggested a fan with some
streamers at the door of the barn. It's an open ended barn tho', so it may
not work, but could buy her some time to try and get some more info. Above
all, she says that she will not harm the owl, or let anyone hurt it.
