Hi Tweets!

Next month I'm heading south to Bakersfield for a long overdue family visit
and some birding.
This will be the first time I've actually gone looking for specific species.
One of which is the ROSE-RINGED PARAKEET, a naturalized species that's
apparently doing very well.
I thought some of you might like to read about how this species came to the
Bakersfield area and how it has adapted to the Southern San Joaquin Valley.

I'm even going to try and spot the juvenile delinquent CALIFORNIA CONDORS if
possible. That means a trip into the mountains that can sometimes have
snow. Other birds I want to check out are the BLACK CROWNED NIGHT HERONS,
YELLOW BILLED MAGPIES, GREAT and CATTLE EGRETS. And of course what ever
else I can see.

Sometimes my mom has seen a stray parrot or two in her backyard!

This should be interesting.
