While this isn't about a bird sighting, some tweeters may be interested in
this. This morning while I was conducting a nature tour in West Seattle, we
saw at least one large new beaver dam along Longfellow Creek, and large trees
that had been felled or significantly chewed into. We also saw a beaver
swimming in the creek. If you'd like to see this, it is just south of the
steel mill. From 26th SW, go west on the dead end of Yancy Street, and you
will easily see this on your right at the dead end. The large beaver dam is a
few hundred feet north in the creek. A worker there told me the beavers will
be relocated soon.

Okay, here's some bird info: we also observed the pair of bald eagles
sitting near their nest in the greenbelt across from Salty's restaurant on
Harbor Avenue.
