Some years ago I recall a brief thread on either tweeters or birdchat about
high frequency hearing loss, along with some discussion about some low cost
(I think)
gizmos that could be stuffed in the ears and were an effective measure. Of
course,I didn't pay much attention at the time, but now I too have reached the
stage where kinglets, creeper, bushtits, most warblers and even chickadees
(unless they are close) are essentially out of my hearing range. Other than
that,
my hearing is still fairly OK for regular interactions, so I haven't yet
consulted
a specialist about this problem, though I know I should. But it is playing
hell
with my birding. Does anyone out there remember this thread, or know about
these
gizmos?
