Hello Tweeters and Charles Wright:

Last week (on a snowy day on the West hill) in Kent, I Saw a "Red-Shafted" X
"Yellow-Shafted" intergrade Flicker at a suet block in my yard. This bird
(like Charles' sighting) was a Male with red whiskers and a red crescent on
the back of his brown head. I also noticed (as did Charles') the very bright-o
range color on the underside of his tail base. The bird that I saw last week
was very similar to a back yard Flicker visitor about a month ago.
Apparently, There are several of these hybrids in the vicinity.
