Hi Tweets,

Janet and I visited Discovery Park on that beautiful Monday
morning holiday we had. During the descent to the north
beach we came upon a nice mixed flock of GOLD-CROWNED and
RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETs, a BROWN CREEPER, CHESTNUT-BACKED and
BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEEs along with several DOWNY
WOODPECKERS.

After looping the park we were returning to the parking lot
via the south side. Janet noticed a small bobbing shadow on
the ground. Not twenty feet away was a PILEATED WOODPECKER
silently tapping on some rotten wood. First time we've
found a bird from a small bobbing shadow. I should say *Janet* found it!

Good birding,
