The adult ICELAND (Kumlien's) GULL is located in a dirt parking lot just
upstream of Simpson Pulp Mill in Tacoma near the mouth of the Puyallup
River. To reach this location, take the Portland Avenue exit off I-5 west
towards the bay.
Follow it past 11th Street and as you approach the entrance to the mill,
you'll see a small dirt parking lot on your right along the river's edge.
Gulls congregate on a small beach here and in the parking lot unless the
tide/river level is extremely high. The Iceland Gull has an injured left
wing which hangs awkwardly from its body, so it should be fairly easy to
locate if it's around. It also tends to skulk in the vegetation at the
upstream edge of the lot and seems to keep away from the other gulls unless
there's food around.

I believe it was seen by Dennis Paulson this morning, 1/20, around 10 am.
But it could not be found from 2 to 5 pm according to Ruth Sullivan.
