HI tweeters,
Today Marilynne and I went to Duncan for a bit of
birding. A the Somenos Marsh in North Duncan we saw about sixty
Trumpeter Swans, Green Winged Teal, Northern Shoveler, Northern Pintail,
Ring-necked Duck's, Hooded Mergangers, Am. Widgeon, Mallards, and about
300 Canada Geese
At Cowichan Bay, we saw ten Mute Swan, along with
Buffle Head, Common Loons.
In south Duncan behind the Farmers Market at th end of
Corfield Rd. there were 250 Trumpeter Swans, along with about 200 Canada
Geese. On the next road east of Corfield, in a field, we saw another 250
Trumpeter Swans.
On the way home north of Duncan on Highway one, in a
field on the east side of the highway, near the Salt Spring Island Ferry
turnoff, we saw another flock of Swans. Today in Duncan it's Swan City.

Best Regards... Neil
Nanaimo B.C.
