Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
recording was made Thursday Janaury 27. If you have anything to add call

The elusive TUFTED DUCK at the Warrenton Sewage Ponds continues to be
seen, but is easily missed.

A male OLDSQUAW continues to be seen at the South Jetty of the Siuslaw
River; two SNOW BUNTINGS were there January 26. A RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was
seen January 23 near Cloverdale, south of Tillamook. The EMPEROR GEESE
continue to be seen along Highway 101, on Kilches Meadow north of
Tillamook.

The blue phased ROSS'S GOOSE continues to be seen near Post Office Lake
near Ridgefield NWR. Many TUNDRA SWANS and SANDHILL CRANES are in the
River S Unit of the refuge.

The sparrow flock containing the HARRIS'S, CLAY-COLORED, and
WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS are still at the East Side Checking Station on
Sauvie Island. An adult HARLAN'S HAWK was seen January 23 along Oak
Island Road. A partial albino RED-TAILED HAWK is wintering along Reeder
Road north of the Oak Island Road Junction on the Island. The PALM
WARBLER is still being seen along 33d Avenue, north of Columbia Blvd. in
North Portland.

The BURROWING OWL wintering along 119th. Street east of Salem is still
being seen. A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK and a GREATER YELLOWLEGS were at Ankeny
NWR January 21. A WESTERN SANDPIPER was there the next day.

A brown phased GYRFALCON was reported from Yamhill County Janaury 20, in
the farm fields west of Amity. A pair of CINNAMON TEAL were at Baskett
Slough NWR January 23. That day a HARLAN'S HAWK was along Airlie Road,
east of Highway 99W south of Monmouth.

The HARRIS'S SPARROW in Golden Garden Park in Eugene is still being seen.
One or two EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL continue to be seen west of Eugene.

The TREE SPARROW at Miller Island Wildlife Area, south of Klamath Falls
has remained. On January 22 a flock of LAPLAND LONGSPURS was at Lower
Klamath NWR.

An injured HARLAN'S HAWK was brought to a Hermiston rehab center January
22. It is expected to recover.

Several large flocks of COMMON REDPOLLS were found January 22 in Wallowa
County. Good numbers of BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS are still in Joseph.
